An Italian Park Ranger in Patagonia
One of my first visits to Chilean Patagonia was in June, when temperatures begin to fall and natural attractions receive fewer visitors. This is the perfect time, if the weather
Totapuri Adventures was born out of a desire to share with other nature enthusiasts not only the outstanding and majestic landscapes of Southern Chile and Patagonia, but also to make them acquainted with the history and culture of these regions. With particular attention to the environment, and respecting the local traditions, the trekking activities proposed by us are designed for small groups of no more than ten people. In fact, our aim is to provide a personalized experience in which you will be given the necessary individual attention in order to make your adventure unique.
We believe that, in order to enjoy Southern Chile and Patagonia to the full, good organization and planning are of paramount importance. To this end, we rely on a high-quality network of support services, such as accommodation, transportation and catering. As a result, we have been able to create a seamless itinerary characterized not only by the beauty of the places visited, but also by the fact that it touches areas that are less well known to international tourists especially European and American. Thus, we are confident that our travel proposal will give you the opportunity to enjoy these regions of Chile in a more intimate and authentic way.

1st March, 2023, the dream of a journey in Patagonia becomes true. Thanks to Giancarlo I take a flight to Santiago, Chile, then to The South where volcanoes, Araucaria and lakes await me. Unmissable landscapes in an extraordinary land.
Under Giancarlo’s attentive and experienced guidance everything becomes easy. The treks in the national parks, each one more beautiful than the one before. Accommodation is carefully chosen: clean, comfortable with panoramic views. Every part of the tour is a discovery. Excellent and plentiful breakfasts, typical dinners, often with a refined touch. Encounters with skillful artisans and thermal baths… A pleasure for all the senses. I recommend this experience to whom ever wants to feel the breath of the earth.
We, a German-Finnish couple, had a magnificent vacation in Argentinian Patagonia in early 2023, hosted by Giancarlo. This is not his home-court mid-Chile (of which we saw wonderful pictures for a future trip) but he knew also Argentine like the back of his hand.
We had planned together in advance the broad outlines of the week — visiting both the “must-see” spots and some lesser-known places in the El Calafate — El Chalten region. Giancarlo arranged everything, selected and booked hotels and restaurants besides the hikes and other destinations, guided the hikes at our pace, and drove us around all week until the airport. We could just enjoy ourselves without the normal travel hassles.
Giancarlo was always available, providing insights, advice and local color. Yet he was also sensitive to give us private space when needed — and flexible to modify the program when we wanted to shorten the later hikes after a for-us demanding (but still so great) Fitz Roy climb. The views were of course breathtaking, even better live than we could have imagined. One highlight among many was the sight of glacier Perito Moreno shedding ice for two minutes. Memories for a lifetime.
Thank you Giancarlo! Hope to see you one day in Southern Chile and Patagonia.
